In Tale of the Nine-Tailed 1938, the highly anticipated second season of the fantasy action series, viewers are taken on a new journey alongside the male gumiho, Lee Yeon (Lee Dong-wook). After finding happiness with his long-lost love, Nam Ji-ah, in the first season, Lee Yeon’s life takes an unexpected turn when he is suddenly summoned to the year 1938.
Confused and disoriented, Lee Yeon finds himself in a bygone era, far away from the present day where his loved ones reside. Determined to return to his rightful time, he embarks on a desperate struggle, facing various challenges and dangers along the way. The stakes are high as he fights against formidable forces that seek to prevent his return.
Amidst this tumultuous journey, Lee Yeon encounters a mysterious woman named Ryu Hong-joo (Kim So-yeon). Ryu Hong-joo is a guardian spirit residing in the human world, disguised as the owner of a prestigious restaurant. As Lee Yeon navigates through the complexities of the past, he must also navigate his emotions—torn between his longing for Nam Ji-ah and his growing connection with Ryu Hong-joo.
