Listen to The Hombres’ ‘Let It Out’ from White House Plumbers, Ep2 end credits – Leo Sigh

The Hombres’ ‘Let It Out (Let It All Hang Out)’ parody a fitting ending song for White House Plumbers, Ep. 2

Garage rock band The Hombres’ ‘Let It Out (Let It All Hang Out)’ was that classic rock song playing on White House Plumbers yesterday over the end credits — White House Plumbers, Episode 2, “Please Destroy This, Huh?

The track was first released way back in 1967 as the title track from the band’s debut and, as it turned out, only studio album of the same name.

The quirky southern rock song charted at #12 on the Billboard Hot 100 the year of its release, but was not a hit outside the United States.

Let It Out (Let It All Hang Out)’ became so loved as a “parody song” of the Bob Dylan track ‘Subterranean Homesick Blues’ , however, it went on to be covered by several high-profile artists.

They included John Cougar Mellencamp, Van Halen’s David Lee Roth, the new wave band The Nails and the British dance music group Definition of Sound.

Who were The Hombres?

The Hombres themselves were a short-lived American garage rock band that was founded in 1966 and, unfortunately, broke up just three years later in 1969.

The indie band released one studio album, and five singles. Although none of the other four tracks was ever able to achieve the success of ‘Let It Out (Let It All Hang Out)’.

After they broke up, band members lead singer and organist B. B. Cunningham, Jr, bass player Jerry Lee Masters, guitarist Gary Wayne McEwen and drummer John Will Hunter went their separate ways.

As for White House Plumbers, the comedy drama is a satire about Watergate that stars Woody Harrelson, Justin Theroux, Domhnall Gleeson, Kiernan Shipka, and Lena Headey.

The five-episode limited series is currently airing on HBO. Its final episode will air on May 29th.
