The South Korean fantasy drama Arthdal Chronicles 2, Episode 4 aired on tvN last night to the same steady ratings it has received since the series premiered on September 9th.
Nielsen Korea shows the ratings for last night’s episode at 4.95 percent nationwide, which is a very slight fall from its previous episode’s all-time high rating of 5.00 percent, but still holding strong.
In Seoul, the drama earned a higher 5.36 percent, which is a slight fall from Episode 3’s all-time high of 5.61 percent, but still a very solid rating for the Jang Dong Gun-led drama.
Especially as the drama ended up in first place on cable TV for the day, both nationally and in Seoul.
Ratings for the drama so far are slightly lower than the ones Arthdal Chronicles earned for its first season but, with eight episodes still to air, there is still time for the drama to grab an even higher audience share.
Most K-dramas also see a lower audience for subsequent seasons, so Arthdal Chronicles 2 slightly lower ratings are nothing unexpected.
International audience ratings for Arthdal Chronicles 2, Episode 4
According to Flix Patrol, internationally the fantasy drama is currently in the Top 10 Most Watched TV Shows on, Disney Plus in Hong Kong (#6), South Korea (#3), Japan (#9), Singapore (#6) and in Taiwan (#4).
The problem for Arthdal Chronicles 2 with international audiences, however, is that the first season streamed, and is still streaming, on Netflix.
That means some of its audience may not subscribe to Disney Plus where the second season is currently streaming, thus helping to explain any international shortfall in its audience.
Meanwhile, for those audiences who do subscribe to the platform, Arthdal Chronices 2, Episode 4 has been uploaded and is now streaming on Disney Plus.
The fantasy drama’s next episode will air on tvN in South Korea on September 23rd at 21:20 (KST), with Disney Plus streaming it for international audiences around the same time.
